Using old world techniques of the Silver Guild, traditional hand forming is applied to achieve exquisite texture and relief shapes that move the alloy. With a painterly style, translucent acrylics are blended in progressive layers to emit luminance of the metal forming techniques.David Bushellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13924659157977551856noreply@blogger.comBlogger29125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-78500668853117369.post-59623961760749687932012-12-15T08:11:00.001-08:002012-12-15T08:11:58.527-08:00Homage to respected artists

For many years Dave has reviewed and studied in fascination the work of Georgia O'Keeffe 1887 - 1986. Her life as an artist has amazed us with the unique realism in her work. She traveled the world to talk, teach, and continue with her passion and live within her dreams... to make Fine Art.

Dave was asked if he wanted to be part of a show in Wyandotte, MI at the Rivers Edge Gallery.
Without hesitation Dave started working on new art in homage to Georgia for the upcoming event.
My full-time job as a Fabricator has taken up most of my time because of new work demands and schedules. My art work was displayed in the River Edge Gallery in Wyandotte Michigan, the Exo Hair Saloon and Gallery in Allen Park Michigan, and "the Creative Process project" at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.
By looking forward into the New Year I intend to open a new line of work that is Thermal Coated with bronze in the line-of-sight application. This is to avoid covering the metal work and secondly to add a new dimension to fine craft by applying Patina Solutions for the hues instead of Acrylics.
David Bushellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13924659157977551856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-78500668853117369.post-46610076542638429332011-09-24T11:19:00.000-07:002011-09-24T11:19:19.207-07:00Process of Creativity @ DDF
GalleryNew Center
A musical art group named the http://www.morrowsmemory.com Morrow's Memory wanted to display a single black rose to promote my line of art by the Bass Guitarist which is Scott Sarnia. He wanted to display small roses that have detail but are of lower cost. I thought of the promotion and agreed if I can proceed with another piece of art first to display my creative side that is outside of my comfort box. Scott was not sure what I was up to but he agreed with my gesture and this is the results of the project.
I want her to help me by asking some of her clients about my art to find out what the public really thinks of it. With her feed back from some of her clients we discovered that a common perception is being made of the art.
The style is too 70's... I started to explain that it isn't production art... "STOP Dave", Patt stated. I have been explaining that to clients but they insist that it looks too 70's.
I need a new dimension in the art to make it in this generation of Art Collectors.
An art exhibit has been on display called the "Four Petals and a Stem". The exhibit has a theme of floral art in Photography and Metal Sculpture. Patt Slack the Lead Designer and Jeremy Hansen the Gallery Director of Rivers Edge Gallery presented this exhibit. The composition is a mixed subject of floral design with bird. My wife wanted to see a Bird of Paradise arrangement made and I wanted to work on a Bird so a search began. The results was quite astounding after some sketches were made and crossing the creative line.
The Bird of Paradise is the head of course!
The Bird body is the Hoatzin of Africa.
Dave expanded his line of art this year by making a new series of art by making the "Sun Series". A lot of artist that make the "Sun", hope to catch a few rays and make someone smile. Dave put the sun series together piece by piece with hand made segments and then acrylic painted the Stainless Steel. The art can readily be hung on the wall or put on a custom stand if requested for table or mantle display. The Series are 12 inches in diameter and can be made custom if requested.

David Bushellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13924659157977551856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-78500668853117369.post-50327592614351743332008-12-20T12:02:00.000-08:002009-10-26T06:31:11.869-07:00Asian PrinceBeing creative in new designs for interior decorating is a passion for Dave Bushell. He composed this piece of art slowly as to give mother nature simple kisses of delight. The combination of Asian Orchid, Western Gardenia, and Ornamental Grass became a great composition of Bushell's favorites. The design is soft yet it releases a sensual tone for decorating in her favorite room or office setting. The art was made in Dec '08 measuring 15"x 16" of Stainless Steel and Acrylic mediums.David Bushellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13924659157977551856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-78500668853117369.post-48170826789258034242008-12-13T10:49:00.000-08:002009-10-26T06:39:57.413-07:00Composing sculpture of Floral Design for people is an extension of my feelings and appreciation for life. I have worked with may groups of people throughout my life expressing the importance of Quality and the way we control it. In our busy every day communication we sometimes loose touch with that control and the expectations of our customer. As an artist of floral design I have made a commitment to entire Art Community and Market to exceed client expectations by putting a composition together with pride and merit. By using old world techniques, sculptures of accent art are created. With a painterly style, progressive layers of translucent acrylics emit luminance of the detail, a natural display in two or three dimension art. My creativity and passion flows with Customer Centric Art, a subject that is centered and then composed to form the sculptures, a blend for the Collectors' interior designing.

Metal Sculptures by David Bushell
David Bushellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13924659157977551856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-78500668853117369.post-78750345615784905642008-11-09T16:50:00.000-08:002009-10-26T06:35:50.528-07:00Hosting Hospitality with Sculptures
This is "Steel Magnolia which was made in 2004. The character of each detail expresses our inter feelings and thoughts as we create a painting, sculpture, photo, or a song. I have studied different styles of art forms to learn what made the Artist successful. I chose my medium "stainless steel" for it's difficulty to shape, inner character, and ability to show expression of my thoughts.
